View CollectionIf you are a veteran or history buff, these old WWII unsilvered paper cap ornaments might be just what you need for your Christmas tree.
Fact: Wartime shortages and restrictions prevented the use of silver nitrate and metals caps for Christmas ornaments in 1942. Therefore, glass ornaments were manufactured without the shiny look and with paper caps. These restrictions lasted until 1946.
Prized by collectors, our set of two (hard to find) striped Shiny Brite ornaments are easy to date since they are both unsilvered and use a paper cap (so were made between 1942-1946). Ornaments like these exemplify shortages, hardships and ingenuity.🎄Want to know more about WWII ornaments? Click here.

- TWO unsilvered paper cap striped Shiny Brite ornaments (as shown)
Item Condition
Good vintage condition with overall surface wear. Both ornaments have the original paper cap and string hang cord. The ornaments show loss of surface paint and glitter, smudges, discoloration, soil and dust.
We recommend cleaning these ornaments ONLY with a soft dry paint brush to remove surface dust. Avoid cleaners or water which will remove color.
