View CollectionIt's always the eyes that touch us, as you'll see in these two portrait paintings of young Romani women. Not to be confused with 'Roman' people, Romani people lived a nomadic, itinerant lifestyle arriving in Europe in the 14th century!
The use of watercolor highlights the gentle, delicate beauty of these women's features and dress. The rustic, unmatched frames are perfect. This set belongs together.
This set of two paintings are presumed to be by the same artist. The intrigue is real; who was the artist and why did she choose this subject?
