Found at a local an estate auction, the set includes three pieces of clayware pottery from Mexico: one water carafe signed by the artist “V Silva”; a bird stamped “Mexico” to the underside, and an unmarked cup with the typical Tonala design on the bottom (some say it is Venus and the moon.) The interior of the pieces are for the most part unglazed, or partially painted and glazed. The exterior has a satin glaze

- THREE pieces of hand painted Mexican Tonala pottery including a carafe, a bird and a cup ( as shown)

-Item Condition

The pieces are in good vintage condition with mild surface wear related to age and use. The cup has a few minor chips, barely noticeable and the large carafe has a few small chips in paint at bottom. (see photos) No major cracks or defects noted. Carafe is signed by artist V. Silva / Mexico on the bottom and the bird is stamped Mexico. Dated to the 70s.
