Old painted tin canisters were plentiful back in the day. Utilitarian and sturdy, they'd hold all types of necessary staples used in the kitchen.
These tole stencilled coffee and tea canisters were likely part of a kitchen set (think missing flour and sugar canisters). With air tight lids this duo was used for years to keep coffee and loose tea fresh.
Interestingly, the coffee canister has a hinged lid while the tea's lid is loose. There are some illegible stamped words inside the red lid 'Chicago, Packers, Co.' but incomplete.
A lovely addition to your kitchen decor, or use them for YOUR tea and coffee!
