Painted by James Earle Fraser (1876-1953), this iconic artwork titled ‘End of the Trail’ is still relevant today. More than just a Southwestern image, the image reflects the suffering and exhaustion of people driven from their native lands by Euro-American settlers.
This offset lithograph on paper shows a weary man on horseback, symbolizing the end of the Native American life as it was known. Produced by the Columbian Colortype Co. of Chicago sometime in the 1920s-1930s. With vivid colors plus original glass and frame, this piece is a highly collectible work of art.
