Vintage Embroidered Bluebird of Happiness Pillow

'May Happiness Be Yours'

Made with an off-white linen background, this old girl sports a pink pompom edging (though many of the little poms have gone on to greener pastures). The bold, colorful design on the front appears to have been machine embroidered in a soft chenille (see last image). With an opening near the top for your pillow insert, you can display her in various rooms to bring joy and light to all who enter. 

These designs were popular back in the 30s and 40s, though the maker and actual history is unknown.

- ONE large square pillow cover with bluebirds, letters and pompoms (as shown)

Item Condition

Good condition with wear consistent with age and use. Most evident are the missing pompoms around much of the edging, though we'd leave it that way. The fabric and stitching is intact. The base appears to be a darkened linen or cotton-linen blend. The colorful embroidery appears to be chenille-like, very soft. Recommend dry clean only, but talk to your dry cleaner first. Estimated age is the second quarter of the 20th century.
