These striking figural bookends depict two reading monks in rich red robes. Imagine how they will add a pop of color to your library shelves.

Most interesting is the production method which utilized an electrode built into the plaster mold of the subject. Bronze was then electro-formed onto the plaster mold. They were then cold painted by hand. This was extremely innovative in the 1920’s, though it was also very costly for labor and materials.

Also described as friars or scholars, you’ll enjoy the worldly essence they’ll bring to your space. And knowing they are hard-to-find make them all the more interesting and collectible.
