Vibrant Handwoven Southwestern Rug or Mat

This old southwestern rug is straight out of an antique store in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The vibrant colors and pattern tell a story of the lost art of handwoven textiles. 

The tightly woven fabrics appears to be part of a longer piece. Quite sturdy, she likely served several utilitarian functions: floor rug, table covering, sitting mat - to name a few. Today she’d happily join your family as a gorgeous wall hanging, table runner or draped of the back of your sofa.

Of course, without a label to verify materials and care instructions, you may want to talk with a professional carpet cleaner or dry cleaner before attempting to launder. One thing is certain, she’s been around for a long while and is not a quitter … so expect to enjoy this authentic handmade textile for years to come.

Good condition with wear consistent with age and use. Colors vibrant. Tightly woven textile with no holes or tears present. Fringe on one side is shorter due to wear. Several minor stains present (last image) along with discoloration, dust, minor soil. Would benefit from cleaning.
