Books + Ephemera
View CollectionHenri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) captured the style of 19th century Paris perfectly with his iconic art. Who hasn't seen one of his posters and longed for a trip to Paris?
His work seems almost modern, with simple lines and bright colors depicting actors, dancers, prostitutes and clowns. Toulouse-Lautrec, whose work is described as a Post Impressionist, was a true bohemian.
This book is actually the first compilation of his complete works, dry points and lithographs. First published in 1961, it's large and solid, weighing in at 7 lbs.
A coffee table book that explores this quirky artist and Old Paris, you'll find yourself reaching for this masterpiece to leaf through again and again.
Published by Harry N. Abrams, New York; printed and bound in Japan.
