Simplex Toy Litho Tin Typewriter (c.1930s)
Simplex Toy Litho Tin Typewriter (c.1930s)
This very cool old litho tin typewriter was purchased at a country auction. The gentleman who owned it described the excitement he felt when he received this toy as a child. We know it was used with love!
Remnants of the original box, including instructions, will be included with purchase, as well as an old bottle of dried ink. Paper can be loaded by turning the handle. The letter dial turns and can be pressed, but the ink has since dried so it's unable to print.
This old toy has bright colors and clear graphics - and would be a super addition to your toy collection. Dated to around the 1930's.
The Simplex Typewriter Company manufactured various typewriters - some as a toy and some as serious typewriters, but it was always the same product. On the Simplex, typists used a pointer to choose letters on a type wheel, and then pressed down to print.
