Robinson Ransburg Pottery Cookie Jar, 1930s Rio Collection
Robinson Ransburg Pottery Cookie Jar, 1930s Rio Collection
A cookie jar that doubles as a work of art. That's what you'll get with this old Robinson Ransbottom Pottery (RRP) piece. Manufactured in the 1930s as part of the Rio product line, which was advertised to be “colorful and charming for interior or out-of-doors” and designed to have a “south of the border look”. Look at those colors!
The Rio line included vases and other decorative pieces. But, TBH, we have not seen another Rio cookie jar. Anywhere.
The hand applied paint and decoration is not glazed. The lid has a small hole in the center as if it once had a knob or handle. The condition of this beauty, considering the age, is remarkable. Because of the scarcity of this piece, we will update this listing once we find more info.
