Reproduction Painting of The Torn Hat by Thomas Sully
Reproduction Painting of The Torn Hat by Thomas Sully
Reproduction paintings are often real sleepers, but this one stopped us in our tracks! The Torn Hat by Thomas Sully was originally painted in 1820, and there have been numerous reproductions and variations since then. A timeless image of a young boy painted by his father, his expression is accented by sunlight streaming through his torn hat. Magical!💫
Canvas in wooden frame, loose threads and edge wear. Peeling paint and crazing. A somewhat illegible signature on lower left corner by the artist appears to be ‘Don Gephart’ but cannot be verified.
He will add a level of authenticity and wonder to any room in your home.
