Primitive Wooden Tool Box with Mosaic Lid
Primitive Wooden Tool Box with Mosaic Lid
An old tool box is transformed into a work of art! Our genuine old wooden tool box, painted a mossy green, sports a lid decorated with a primitive mosaic of hand cut vintage china and found objects. This art form is called Pique Assiette, or 'broken plate' mosaic. Included on the line are vintage buttons, beads, glass tile, milliefiori, shells, coins, jewelry, porcelain bisque doll, ceramic mouse... even an old brass bullet casing! Mosaic lid was made in 2015.
The original metal handle and hinges have a beautiful patina. There is a removable sectioned tray in the box to hold small items. A chain holds the lid open.
Sturdy and completely functional, this antique tool box can be used for storage or for display in your eclectic cottage-style home.
