Primitive White Painted Plant Stand with Mosaic Top (c.1800s)
Primitive White Painted Plant Stand with Mosaic Top (c.1800s)
Love wooden furniture with layers of old paint - the kind that peels and chips? Then you'll love our very old white painted plant stand purchased from the local Historical Society annual sale.
Primitive, imperfect and full of charm with multiple layers of chippy paint, this piece has a woven wicker braid around the top edge and spiral turned legs. Truly authentic and rich in history.
The inspiration for the mosaic top (completed in 2016) was a vintage fruit plate with a soft blush pink edge. The center botanical design is surrounded with bits and pieces of hand cut glass, ceramic tile and milliefiori in complementary colors. Grouted in soft white sanded grout and sealed to protect from stains. Pique assiette mosaic design at it's best!
Simple and not overdone... a lovely accent piece for your rustic, farmhouse, shabby decor.
