Pair of Early Asian Women Watercolor Paintings
Pair of Early Asian Women Watercolor Paintings
Painted with a light hand, this pair of early watercolor paintings will add class and charm to any space. The Asian women poised on benches are delicate and beautiful. Signed by artist HWK or HUK.
Paintings of this era were often painted on pith paper which was used in Chinese export paintings. But without disassembling these two and having them appraised, we cannot be certain of the age or paper. The images of the women's feet appear to support the ancient practice of binding feet of young women which was outlawed in China in 1949.
These beauties are appreciated for the skill represented by the artist.
