Two antique faux tortoise shell hair combs or picks from the Victorian era have an overlay of bronze-type metal attached to the top in open, intricate, ornate filigree design.
A natural turquoise verdigris is present due to oxidation of the metal - more so on one that the other. Neither has been cleaned to maintain the original patina. Each has two prongs. Lovely to wear for a wedding, prom or formal event.
Purchased from estate sale and dated to the late 1800s.
