Without spilling a drop, the Mauby Woman, with great skill and balance, would tilt the bucket on her head, turn on the tap and dispense the popular **local drink which she sold to customers throughout islands in the Caribbean.  Don’t be fooled, this was hard work to make a little money from tourists.

This artwork appears to be from a competition in 1941, drawn by artist Alma Schellas. We hope she won first place due to the detail and careful hand shown in this beautiful piece.

**Made from the bark of the Mauby tree, the spicy sweet drink is a staple in Caribbean households.
