This piece is titled 'Play With Me' which gives a nod to little girls and their dreams from the mid century era.
This piece was created on an old book cover. Quite detailed, I've included assorted pits and pieces reminiscent of children's play and dancing. The back side has been covered with rice paper. This lovely piece can be displayed in a small easel (as shown) or framed and hung on the wall.
Every collage I make is unique and different. Yours will be signed and dated, then carefully wrapped in a protective cellophane sleeve and shipped in a rigid mailing envelope.
Inspiration
Inspired by stacks of discarded old books and papers with interesting text, images, graphics and history, old books are deconstructed, then bits and pieces are hand cut and sorted by color. I'll experiment with the design until I create an aesthetically pleasing arrangement. I'll let it rest for a few days, then return and adjust the design if needed. Oftentimes, ink, pencil and thread are added to provide additional interest and texture.
