This old green pottery holder is an eye-catching piece of collectible tobacciana. It features an elephant against open tree trunks, making it easy to store matches (or anything you smoke) all in one place. On the right side is a match striker (image 3).

Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. Scuffs, chips, soil and residue present. Loss of paint and glaze throughout. Incised '53' on the bottom. No makers mark; age unknown.
