Also called horsehair raku, this fascinating art form was used among the Navajo and other indigenous people. Pottery fresh out of the kiln receives a handful of horse hair which results in a unique random design from from the carbonized reaction.
Muted tones blend beautifully with both rustic and contemporary decor. A lovely gift for yourself (we like those!) or any pottery collector.

Item Condition
Excellent condition with wear consistent with age and use. A few small rubbed/abraded areas around top rim but barely noticeable. Minor scuffs and marks present. Clean. Signed 'VS' on bottom. Attributed to the Navajo Vail family potters according to auction house.
Date unknown but likely late 20th century.
