This majestic majolica leaf dish is a beautiful, timeless piece of 19th century English pottery. Its artfully-arranged  acorns evokes the changing of the seasons in an elegant, sophisticated style.

Ideal for adding a touch of rustica to your space, she can hold nibbles, display your foraged bounty from a walk in the woods or just be part of the family.

Quite similar to majolica from Griffin Smith & Hill in the 1880s, she's unmarked so we hesitate to identify a maker. Be assured she's really an old gal, not a reproduction.

Item Condition Smith & Hill

Very good condition with minimal wear. No significant cracks to chips noted. Faint hairline underneath near leaf point. There are scattered irregularities in the glaze. Mild pitting, marks, crazing and residue noted. Colors vibrant and rich.

A faint V-shaped brush mark on the bottom which is likely that of the artist who decorated this lovely piece. Unmarked, but quite similar to others from the late 1800s, such as those from England's Griffin Smith & Hill.
