Humble and utilitarian, this antique feather edge platter served up many a meal for the working man & woman back in the 1800s. Today? She's highly collectible for discriminating collectors of antique serve ware.
With scattered loss of glaze, marks, nicks and hairlines, be careful when handling this beauty! Suggest avoiding temperature extremes and hand washing/dry carefully. To be safe, we recommend serving dry foods, such as small pastries or use only for display.
No maker mark or date, but our research shows she was likely born during the early- to mid-1800s in England.
With the lovely green shell rim and embossed pattern, she may be around in another 150+ years if handled with care.
Pro Tip: we think she'd be beautiful piled high with antique holiday ornaments and fresh greenery come December.
