English Antique Flow Blue Dessert Plates, Set of 6 (c.1800s)
English Antique Flow Blue Dessert Plates, Set of 6 (c.1800s)
Some of our favorite dishes are antique flow blue... they exude simple Victorian sophistication, Sunday family dinners and afternoon teas. This set of six WH Grindley & Co. - Milan dessert plates will serve up rolls, salads, or desserts and add modern sophistication to your dining table.
The Milan pattern by the WH Grindley & Co. is dated to 1893. These plates are in amazing condition considering the age. We also have a matching set of five berry dishes in our shop so feel free to take a look! (see photo of six dessert plates and five berry bowls)
WH Grindley & Co. was founded in 1880, making mostly earthenware and ironstone china. The company changed hands and locations several times over the years, and finally closed in 1991.

Item Condition
Wow!! In great condition, with overall mild surface wear related to age and use. The gold painted and sponged accents show minor loss and wear. Slight crazing throughout. Several have areas of roughness and a few small flea bites. All plates are marked with the Grindley stamp (thought blurry) and indicate the Milan pattern.
