End of the Trail Offset Lithograph, James Earle Fraser c.1930s
American painter James Earle Fraser (1876-1953) painted the original iconic image titled ‘End of the Trail’. More than just a Southwestern image, the artwork reflects the suffering and exhaustion of people driven from their native lands by Euro-American settlers.
This offset lithograph on paper shows a weary man on horseback, symbolizing the end of the Native American life as it was known. Produced by the Columbian Colortype Co. of Chicago sometime in the 1920s-1930s. With vivid colors plus original glass and frame, this piece is a highly collectible work of art.

Item Condition
Good condition with wear consistent with age and use. Offset set lithograph on paper shows toning and discoloration throughout. The mounting is not totally secure in frame though additional/newer nails have been added. Abrasions, nicks and scuffs to frame. Loss of paper backing. Original hanging wire included.
