Edward Hopper (1882-1967), the iconic American artist, produced realistic paintings and sketches for over 60 years. Lloyd Goodrich captures the essence of Hopper's artistic endeavors throughout his life including the contributions of his wife, Jo.
Nearly everyone will recognize some of his works in this amazing book. Internationally acclaimed, Hopper painted characteristic American subjects, such as movie theaters, restaurants, lighthouses and of course, people.
The book is quite large, an oblong folio with 246 illustrations, 88 in color, most are tipped in plates with many double fold outs. Most definitely a 'coffee table' book, but even more than that: one that's worth reading cover to cover.
