A little piece of art history can be yours with this early folk art theorem painting of fruit in a basket. This type of folk art used stencils and was popular with young ladies attending female academies during the 19th century. 

This particular painting features lovely colors, shading and depth. Signed in the lower right with a faint RSV, signature of Ruth S. Vollman. Undated. The seller told us he estimates this piece to be from the early 20th century. A beautiful example of early amateur art which is highly collectible today.

Item Condition

Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. The artwork is brightly colored. Velvet fabric appears to show slack near edges. Wooden frame shows wear with scuffs and marks. Backing paper with several tears. Hanging wire intact. Artist Ruth S. Vollman.
