A pot with a past. On the trail, over a campfire or an iron grate, you can be sure this old copper cooking pot has fed its share of hungry people. Though retired from daily use, she's ready to join a family that appreciates history and old-time craftsmanship.

The rustic beauty lies in the irregularity, the marks, the verdigris. As usual, we have not cleaned or polished this old vessel to protect the patina of age and use.

What is most interesting about this antique pot is the dovetail seam (or cramped seam) on the bottom. This technique was used until around the 1900s when welding became the favored method of construction. Learn more about copper dovetail seams here.

We think this would make a thoughtful gift for the foodie, chef, or collector.
