This rustic bentwood drum-style box design depicts an eagle and a salmon, a common motif in Northwest Coast art. Clarence A. Wells was a First Nations artist known for his work in the graphic Haida style. Wells died in April 2025.

Bentwood boxes are traditionally made from a single plank of wood that is steamed and bent to form the sides of the box. They are used for various purposes, including storage and ceremonial use.
