Are you a Flapper Girl at heart? Treat yourself with these two antique Art Deco personal accessories: a silver round pill box and a folding compact that still contains face powder and rouge blush.

The pill box is marked "Reed and Barton 22" inside and measures 2" in diameter. It may have been used also as a compact for face powder. Our research shows it is dated pre-1928 when the company started using different marks for each year of production, and is most likely silver plate.

The silver compact is a rare find! Heavy and substantial, this compact folds open twice to reveal a mirror, pale face powder and deep rosy pink blush rouge. The cotton puff applicators are included, showing use and discoloration. The interior of the compact is brass tone and marked: "Patented Aug. 17, 23". The powders have retained a sweet feminine scent. The case appears to gave an engine-turned decoration.

Both items are estimated to be from the 1920's when it was acceptable to publicly retouch makeup. Both have been inscribed with the initials "TLR".
