Our beautiful antique Shaker confetti rug is one hard-to-find babe!
This classic Shaker rug with deep red and multiple rich colors found in nature make this rug a literal treasure. Thin wool remnants hooked through a cotton crocheted foundation form a dense, tight construction - just like confetti. Substantial in weight, fluid in drape.
Resourceful Shakers were one of the few makers that created the rug backing, knitting or crocheting with cotton thread. Recycling at its best.

Item Condition
Very good condition with wear consistent with age and use. Loose threads on backing present plus a few ‘bald’ spots. Colors of wool surface are saturated in the best way! Dated to the early 20th century. Maker unknown.
