Antique Mercury Glass Pine Cone Ornaments (c.1920s)
Antique Mercury Glass Pine Cone Ornaments (c.1920s)
This grouping of early mercury glass pine cone ornaments will add old-fashioned sparkle and shine to your Christmas tree. All different, but connected with beautifully aged character, delicate blown glass and an organic nature.
Dated to around the 1920s or before, you can see one actually has 6 small painted indents (three on each side). The largest pine cone is wrapped with wire tinsel, common in the Victorian period. Most likely from W. Germany, the end caps either are not marked or illegible.
A wonderful set to add to your collection - or gift them to a favorite person!

Item Condition
Very good condition considering their age and use. All show scattered surface wear with loss of silvering, darkened areas, marks. The wire tinsel has a few loose ends. End caps are either dark and corroded or worn so the marks are illegible. No obvious chips or cracks, the neck areas under the caps are darkened and irregular, typical of bulbs of this age.
