Our hardcover copy was published in the late-19th century by Marcus Ward & Co. Limited (c.1885) and includes illustrations by popular nineteenth century illustrator, Jessie Watkins. Based upon a London edition published by J. Harris in 1806, this scarce book is illustrated throughout with several full-page color lithograph illustrations, black and white vignettes and beautiful gilt end papers. It is a children's tale told through rhyming verse of the courtship and marriage of two characters, Cock Robin and Jenny Wren.
