Another piece of original paper collage art using old books and papers, this piece is titled 'Grand Canal.'
Created on an old book cover, stitching with thread has been added as well as ink marks. The back side is covered in rice paper. This lovely piece can be displayed in a small easel or framed and hung on the wall.
Every collage I make is unique and different. Yours will be signed and dated, then carefully wrapped in a protective cellophane sleeve and shipped in a rigid mailing envelope.
Inspiration
Inspired by stacks of discarded old books and papers with interesting text, images, graphics and history, old books are deconstructed, then bits and pieces are hand cut and sorted by color. I'll experiment with the design until I create an aesthetically pleasing arrangement. I'll let it rest for a few days, then return and adjust the design if needed. Oftentimes, ink, pencil and thread are added to provide additional interest and texture.

Great condition! Remember, the inherent nature of handmade collage art is the imperfection of the ingredients used. You will see loose threads, bumps, and surface wear that are all part of the design.
