Nothing is more charming and delightful to collect than tiny vintage bisque dolls that were mass produced, starting in the late 19th century. Made in various styles and sizes, the most popular was the Frozen Charlotte, which was nude and immobile.
Our grouping of bisque dolls is a bit different simply because their arms are jointed and moveable. Often called Betty Boop dolls, they are chubbier than a Charlotte and show off the classic Betty Boop hair style. These four cuties were made in Japan, dated to the 1920s-1930s and would be an appealing addition to any collection.
Most notable is the larger doll with a hand painted swimsuit or romper, which increases the value and collectibility. All have 'JAPAN' stamped on the backs. Sweetness overload.

- FOUR vintage bisque Betty Boop dolls (as shown); vintage Japan
Very good vintage condition with overall surface wear consistent with age and use. One nude doll is missing the arms; the other three have moveable arms attached with wire. The largest includes hand painted clothing - a romper or swimsuit and matching hair bow - in all its chippy glory. All with different facial expressions. Please view photos for closeups. All stamped JAPAN on the back.
These sweet dolls have not been cleaned to protect their aged patina.
