Pre-electronics, kids played with mechanical adding machine toys just like this one. Certainly more fun than practicing arithmetic with pencil and paper, and much noisier!

Made by Wolverine, this model from the 1940s is in pretty good shape for a vintage litho tin toy. To operate, you put your finger in a hole and pull down the spring loaded column to add numbers. This particular toy is rather touchy - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. However, as a display piece, it can't beat with clear colors and graphics and only minor dents and scratches.

The original box didn't fare so well - we have remnants of the cardboard box including instructions which are part of this product listing.

Add this little guy to your toy collection and remember the good old days when we weren't glued to our devices!
