If you are a history buff, these old WWII unsilvered glass ornaments might be right up your alley. Yes, this grouping of mismatched glass bulbs are a product of war time Christmas decor. And isn't Christmas about stories and memories?

Varied colors and patterns will fit somewhere in your living space. The metal caps are likely replacements with marks mostly indiscernible, but presumed to be made in USA.

As the story goes, wartime shortages and restrictions prevented the use of silver nitrate and metals caps for Christmas ornaments between 1942-1946. Therefore, glass ornaments were manufactured without the shiny look and often with paper caps. Prized by collectors, ornaments like these exemplify shortages, hardships and ingenuity.🎄
