Love original folk art? Add our primitive floral painting to your gallery wall for a touch of simplicity and warmth. Red roses are the universal symbol of love .. and don't we wish we knew the story behind these blooms.

Signed by Helen Stevens back in the early 1900s, this quiet showpiece feels like a creation from a self-taught artist who painted for the joy of self expression.

We love to display paintings without frames simply because art reduced to its basic (naked) impression is the real deal. However, this one could be framed to focus on the beauty of the design. You decide.

Listing Includes

- ONE primitive floral still life oil painting on stretched canvas; signed but not dated or framed (as shown)

Item Condition

In good antique condition with overall wear consistent with age and use. The canvas shows surface wear plus slight stretching resulting in warping. Discolorations, residue and accretions present throughout. Handwritten inscription present on the backside of the verso though mostly illegible. Creasing and loss to canvas edges. Simply beautiful in our humble opinion. Signed by artist Helen Stevens. Undated.
