This abstract collage named 'Paper Grapes' is built upon an old blue book cover.
We have multiple layers as this piece morphed from one design to the next. The circular pattern suggests movement. The back side is left alone. This lovely piece can be displayed in a small easel (as shown) or framed and hung on the wall.
Every collage I make is unique and different. Yours will be signed and dated, then carefully wrapped in a protective cellophane sleeve and shipped in a rigid mailing envelope.
Inspiration
Inspired by stacks of discarded old books and papers with interesting text, images, graphics and history, old books are deconstructed, then bits and pieces are hand cut and sorted by color. I'll experiment with the design until I create an aesthetically pleasing arrangement. I'll let it rest for a few days, then return and adjust the design if needed. Oftentimes, ink, pencil and thread are added to provide additional interest and texture.
